Ladin tradition

The inhabitants of the Alta Badia valley cherish their traditions and costumes as well as their ancient language, the Ladin. This retro-roman language is still spoken in the villages and taught in school.

Many initiatives have been implemented to protect language and culture. The Museum Ladin, housed within the historic walls of a beautiful castle, presents the history and culture of the Ladin population. The museum holds archaeological treasures, fossils, cultural objects, and traditional handicrafts.
